In Sunday School, Mrs.Young asked us to pick a saying for the year and at least one New Year's Resolution. We are going to write our resolutions down and put them in an envelope and seal it, then at the end of the year we are going to look at are resolutions we made and see if we kept them.
Wednesday, we went to church at noon to decorate the classroom. One wall says "Remember the Lord in 2010", and we built a stone wall, like the Lord often commanded His people to do. Just in case you were wondering, the rocks are made out of paper, Mrs.Young wouldn't have us bring in real rocks to make a stone wall in her classroom. ;) Some of the rocks we made pockets in, that is where we are going to put our envelopes. Another wall says "Motto's for 2010", and we are going to put are sayings on flowers that are also on that wall.
One of my resolutions is to read the Bible through. I have tried before, but some days I don't read my Bible, and don't feel like reading extra the next day. For Christmas, I got a One Year Bible, so I'm trying again this year. Also, another thing I want to work on this year is to have a servants heart, that will be challenging because I do the things I'm told, but I don't always do it with the right attitude. For the sayings, we could choose one of the sayings she gave us (most every Sunday she gives us a new one), or one that we got out of a book, or even a Bible verse. I thought I was all set with one, but I guess it's not the one God wanted me to have. He totally changed my mind. Psalm 118:24 popped into my head. So, I chose that one instead, which when I thought about it, is what I really need to work on. I need to rejoice in the day that the Lord made, instead of wishing that day was over. The last one is that I'm going to try to go without soda...this WHOLE year! What am I thinking!!!
Sorry, I don't have any pictures of the beautiful work that we did.
Happy 2010!
